Chris studied at Wolverhampton and Liverpool Colleges of Art in the early 60’s, and taught in Wolverhampton before becoming a full time painter in 1989.
Since then he has exhibited widely in England, Wales and the USA.
He has held solo exhibitions in Shrewsbury, Newtown Powys and Long Island New York and shown in group exhibitions in NYC, London , Shropshire, Wales, Suffolk, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Long Island.For several years he exhibited with the late Jorn Langberg at his Langham Gallery.
Over the years Chris has successfully entered juried exhibitions in London and the US, including the Sunday Times Watercolour Exhibition ( eleven times) The Discerning Eye ( in which he has been awarded three purchase prizes) and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
Since 1998 Chris has worked almost exclusively in Egg Tempera , mixing egg yolk, water and a palette of predominantly natural earth pigments, the simplicity of which echoes his minimalist exploration of “ The Silence of Objects”.
